This article maps the most commonly used documents in the AIM Methodology to those in the OUM or Oracle Unified Method methodology. In this sense, this will be of some use to those who implement Oracle Applications using the age-old AIM, but have been asked by client to implement using OUM.
This is by no means a comprehensive or even an authoritative list. For Partners who have access, the complete listing of such documents can be found on Oracle Partner Website.

Hi Sameer Jain,
ReplyDeleteThis is really helpful for AIM followers, only confusion is Mandatory or optional can you add additional column as follow.
1. Aim Document
2. Equalant Document
3. OUM phase Introduced
4. Used for Customizations
5. Mandatory or Optional for AIM
6. Mandatory or Optional for OUM
Hi,
DeleteSince this blog compares like-to-like documents across AIM and OUM, what is mandatory in AIM should be mandatory in OUM.
Having said this, OUM 6.0 is quite different. Increasingly, elements of Agile methodology are creeping into OUM 6.0.
The above comparison is based on previous models of OUM. I am still trying to understand OUM 6.0 itself. Note that the docs are not very different in OUM6.0 - it is the underlying philosophy that is different.
Hi Sameer,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your response, can you explain the above documents comparision taken from which version of OUM and AIM.
Sure - the comparison above is for OUM v5.6 versus AIM v3.1.
DeleteThanks,
Sameer
Hi Sameer,
Deletecan you share your views on v6.3 of OUM
Thanks Sameer
ReplyDeleteHi Sameer,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
However, why is it that I am seeing BR100 mapped to DS-030 and RA-040?
Any explanation?
Thanks

Hi Paul,
DeleteThese are purely my views. Happy to update based on feedback - what is your opinion around mapping of AIM to OUM for BR.100.
Cheers,
Sameer
Great work Sameer.
ReplyDeleteCan you comment on relevance of AS IS documentation during implementation of any Oracle package?
How does OUM tackle such demands (wise or otherwise)?
Regards
